Weaving Strip Roof Structure

Part of SNU DAAE 2021 Digital Fabrication Studio project, students were required to design and build a 1:30 roof structure featuring layered weaving stripes inspired by Sigeru Ban Pompidou Metz Centre. Project requires precision consideration of irregular surface offsetting towards inconsistent normal direction if otherwise resulting form would deviate from intended shape. Numorous partial mock-ups had been made to ensure structural integrity along with realtime FEA analysis in the design process.
